Due to a central positioning of the X-axis, the surface gantry maxi hanging can carrry out much longer movements on the Y-axis. The stroke of the Z-axis, however, is limited since it passes underneath the X-axis.

Compared to the conventional design of portals with double X-axis, lateral and hanging designs do not produce any torsion forces between the axes. Thus both systems feature a long service life and are easy to integrate.
